Some registration categories require additional information to verify eligibility. Reference the information below while completing your online registration.

If you are registering under the following categories, you will need to provide the information below during registration. Some categories require additional information to be submitted to the Customer Service Center by email or fax (703-563-2715).

PHYSICIAN IN THE FIRST THREE YEARS OF PRACTICE AFTER FELLOWSHIP OR RESIDENCY​

ONCOLOGY FELLOW, RESIDENT, OR POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW; NON-ONCOLOGY POSTDOCTORAL RESIDENT OR FELLOW, INCLUDING INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENTS; STUDENT​

ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDER, GENETIC COUNSELOR, NURSE, PHARMACIST, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT, PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR, RESEARCH ASSISTANT, SOCIAL WORKER

Provide the information below during the online registration process

  • U.S. License #
  • U.S. License State

If you are not licensed or not licensed in the U.S., register online and then email or fax (703-563-2715) a copy of your credentials to the Customer Service Center. Credentials include a copy of a non-U.S. license, a business card, or a letter, on institution stationery, stating your role as an advanced practice provider, genetic counselor, nurse, pharmacist, physician assistant, practice administrator, research assistant, or social worker. Your registration will not be confirmed until your credentials have been received and verified.

Patient Advocate

Patient advocates may register to attend at a reduced rate. This reduced registration category is reserved exclusively for patient advocates and is not intended for medical professionals. There is no onsite approval for the patient advocate rate; advocates must register in advance.

Individuals interested in registering under this category either work or volunteer for national or international not-for-profit patient advocacy organizations that:

  • Demonstrate a charitable mission
  • Engage in patient advocacy activities
  • Provide programs, services, information, and/or support for people affected by cancer
  • Have a nonprofessional membership
  • Do not offer continuing medical education (CME) or scientific programs for professionals.

Please note that individuals registered under this category are not eligible to receive continuing education credit for their attendance.

ASCO Member Patient Advocates: Register by selecting the “Patient Advocate” registration category when prompted and the system will automatically grant you the appropriate rate. No promotional code or approval is required for ASCO Member Patient Advocates.

Patient Advocates who are not members of ASCO: Submit a curriculum vitae (CV), resume, or bio-sketch to patientadvocates@asco.org for review. If you are approved for the Patient Advocate rate, you will be given a unique registration code to use when you register online.

Emeritus or Retired Attendee

Attendees who want to register in this category must be 65 years or older, permanently disabled, and/or an Emeritus/Retired member of one of the cosponsoring organizations. Emeritus/Retired Attendees must register online and send the following information to the Customer Service Center by email or fax (703-563-2715) in order to receive this discounted registration fee

  • Photo ID with proof of age (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
  • Letter indicating permanent disability
